Over the years as the group has evolved and grown, the techniques for delivering services to those that need them have also changed. As early arrivals learned the ropes of immigration, visas, medical processes and where in the community to go for car repair and groceries they made notes on what they did, where they did it and how they did it. The notes evolved into two very highly sought after and successful books. One, a "shopping guide" lists resources of all types (construction, dental etc.) along with phrases, conversion guides and cross-reference lists of familiar foods in English to Spanish. These collections of people, phone numbers and processes have been captured and are now available to members via this web site. This archive plus new groups, new communications tools and sophistication in technolgy allows people to get much of the information they need online 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Manzamigos helps coordinate information and links to help keep the membership informed and in touch.

“Thirsty Thursday” occurs every Thursday evening at a local restaurant. This has become one of the most visible and sought after events for ex-pats in Manzanillo. The Manzamigos are unique in their dinner events. During the summer the groups are small, perhaps 20-40, and they are able to find accomodations at most any restaurant in town. During the high season it is not uncommon to see a group size of 140-150 straining the ability of a handful of restaurants to meet the demand. The growth of the group and the limitation in restaurant capability makes dinners an event for members, their guests and potential new members with advance reservations only. Please see the contact page for contact information for the Vice President. Use the link below to learn how to join Manzamigos.
